VIDEO TRAINING SERIES: Post 4 of 10

Welcome to the fourth post in our Marquis Academy training series on Quick Tips for Tableau Server.

SET A CUSTOM DEFAULT START PAGE

In our last tip, we showed you have to save time by saving views in workbooks to your favorites. In this video, we’ll show you have to get straight to the data that matters the most to you by customizing your start page.

-----------------------------------------------------

By default, when you log in your start page shows you an overview of all the projects you have permission to see. If there’s one project or workbook that’s particularly relevant to your workflow, you can get straight to it every day by setting it to your default start page.

You can set any page as a start page: whether it’s a particular project, workbook, view, or data source. Simply navigate to the page that you want to be your start page, click on your user name in the upper right corner, and select “make this my start page.”

Now, every time you log into Tableau Server, you’ll be delivered directly to this page. Life is short, get the data you need right at your fingertips with Tableau Server.

Keep your most important dashboards at your fingertips by setting them as Favorites. Learn how to get fast access to the Tableau dashboards that are critical to your workflow, in a couple easy steps.
